I have been admiring this mail art since it arrived last week! I'm happy to hear Jackson has become such a woodworker! How did he cut this card? What kinds of tools does he use? How did he measure it to be exactly postcard sized? I know, I am asking lots of questions, but carpentry always amazes me. I love building little objects but strongly suspect I don't do things the correct way. Can you send a picture or two of other things he has made or is working on? And, the drawing on the other side: very Mondrian! Is that a "zentangle"?! A fantastic collaboration! Other views:

Uh-oh! It's my turn again! I'm afraid the project I was working on didn't work out as I'd hoped. I am going to think on it for a little while and maybe try a new angle or just go with what happened. Hmm.
Were you going to send some dip for the cracker? That sounds challenging, if so. I love crackers and we are cracker-less at the moment but I can never decide at the store. There are SO MANY CRACKERS.
I measured the wood (and checked it twice!) and Jackson used his new scrollsaw and belt-sander to cut and round and sand the edges. A true woodwork project would probably involve some Gesso to keep the sharpies from bleeding into the wood, but I liked the color and feel so I drew directly on it.
Zentangle--yes--but I'm not very good at those. I usually have to look up a pattern directory. I'm not very "patterny." Jackson is--he should make some of these postcards. I might have him cut me some more wood canvasses and try a still-life. We have these nice pears...
He's currently making people's names out of blocky letters. I'll be glad when he finishes a name--they require several steps.
